Rylee Wienhold Matechak, MSW, LCSWA
At Daisy Counseling, I believe in creating a warm, supportive environment where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate life's challenges. My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a deep respect for your unique journey. I integrate evidence-based practices with a person-centered approach, such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
My Educational and Professional Background
I hold a Master's degree in Social Work from North Carolina State University, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (License #P020540) with three years of experience in the mental health field. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working in various settings, including an organization that provides therapeutic behavioral services for individuals with autism, a nonprofit that provides grief resources for end of life, and an outpatient psychotherapy group practice in rural North Carolina, where I’ve gained extensive experience in helping individuals and families cope with a wide range of emotional and mental health challenges. I am supervised by Kim Konderla, MSW, LCSW (License #C014277).
Focus Areas
I specialize in supporting clients who are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, experiences related to LGBTQIA+ identities, and neurodiversity-related challenges. My goal is to help you build the coping skills and resilience needed to achieve greater emotional well-being using what you already have within you.
When I’m Not Working...
Outside of our virtual sessions, I enjoy board games, spending time with my family (especially my dog!), camping, and crafting. I have been trying to explore more of North Carolina because I have only lived here for a few years!
Inclusivity Statement
As a queer identifying, neurodivergent therapist, I am committed to creating a safe and affirming space for all individuals. I use she/they pronouns interchangeably and welcome you to share your pronouns, preferred name, as well as any other parts of your identity that are important to you. I actively engage in continuing education and self-reflection to ensure that my practice is culturally competent and responds to the diverse needs of the communities I serve. It is my mission to support and advocate for underserved and oppressed populations in an ethical and competent manner.
