Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy almost-Valentine's Day!  When we think about this holiday, most of us imagine fancy dinners, big romantic gestures, and social media perfect relationships.  There's no denying that these can be awesome, but this weekend, let's also celebrate the kind of love that is quieter and meaningful, towards both yourself and others.  Be sure to also give yourself space to feel whatever emotions you need to—joy, tenderness, grief, loneliness, longing, relief, or a complicated mix of them all!

Here are some examples of that quieter love we can practice that often gets overlooked:

It can look like setting boundaries and honoring them, even when it feels uncomfortable.
It can look like listening to your body when it asks for rest instead of pushing through.
It can look like offering yourself patience on days when you feel behind, overwhelmed, or unsure.
It can look like speaking to yourself with kindness rather than criticism.
It can look like expressing care to others through honesty, consistency, and presence rather than perfection.
It can look like pausing before reacting, choosing curiosity, or offering grace when conversations feel hard.
It can look like showing up in ways that feel sustainable, without abandoning yourself in the process.

If the holiday feels celebratory for you, enjoy it without guilt!  If it feels heavy, you are not alone.  Wherever you find yourself, show up as you are.
